Product Description
Superb Dual-Plinth Turntable with Acrylic Platter
The Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable is a two-speed belt driven audiophile turntable employing the unique dual-plinth construction originated by Music Hall.
The distinctive design of the MMF-7.3 isolates the critical sound reproducing components. The platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge on the top platform are isolated from the adjustable tip-toe feet, which are mounted on the bottom platform. The motor speed controls, and wiring are isolated on their own platform and completely decoupled from the turntable.
The MMF-7.3 features Music Hall’s unique dual plinth construction, using Sorbothane hemispheres to separate the two platforms and provide additional suspension and vibration damping. The low noise, fully manual belt drive design will bring out the best in your vinyl.
Carbon Fiber Tonearm
The one-piece full carbon fiber tonearm is light, rigid, and non-resonant. The counterweight’s center of gravity is level with the stylus tip and is also decoupled from the arm to act as a resonance damper.
The MMF-7.3's completely isolated/decoupled DC motor boasts convenient 33-1/3 and 45 rpm electronic speed change controls located in the front left corner of the turntable, thus canceling any potential vibration from the motor/belt to the cartridge. The motor sits on its own resonance damping puck.
Acrylic Platter
You usually have to pay a lot more to get a non-resonant acrylic platter with your turntable, but it comes standard with the MMF-7.3. The precision stainless steel main bearing is sheathed in Teflon® for noise-free, fluid operation.
